Will the Lasko Connect app handle all of my Lasko Bluetooth devices or will I need multiple apps?

The Lasko Connect app will allow you to easily operate all of your Lasko Bluetooth products. There is no need for multiple apps.

What happens when I go out of range of my Lasko Connect Bluetooth product, and then back into range?

The Bluetooth function and Lasko Connect app will automatically reconnect with your product when you come back into range.

Can I use my Lasko Connect product while my smart phone/mobile device is already connected to another Bluetooth product?

Can I access the Lasko Connect app without having Bluetooth turned on?

Yes, you can still access the app if Bluetooth is not on; however, you will not be able to control any Lasko products until Bluetooth is turned on.

How do I pair/sync my Lasko product with the Lasko Connect app?

Open the Lasko Connect app on your smart phone or mobile device and make sure the Bluetooth setting is enabled. Then, press and hold the Bluetooth button on your Lasko product. Once the lights begin to blink on your product, look at your phone and press the button to connect the two devices.

Can a Lasko product be controlled by two smart phones or mobile devices at the same time?

No, it can not. When your Lasko Connect app is currently showing the “Controls” screen for a product, only that product can be controlled by that mobile device. Multiple users can control Lasko Bluetooth products, but only one mobile device can change the product’s settings at any one time.

How do I protect my Lasko product from being controlled by others?

Your Lasko product can only be controlled by smart phones that have “synced” with the product. This means that only someone that has had physical access to your Lasko product can control it via smartphone.

On my Android phone, why does the Lasko Connect app require my location setting to be enabled?

Android software requires your location to be turned on in order to use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). BLE uses considerably less power and requires less time to exchange data, so your smartphone can continue to communicate with other Bluetooth devices.

The box of my Lasko fan states it includes a Patented, Fused Safety Plug. What does this mean?

The safety plug is a safety feature created by Lasko that can be found on all of our residential fans and humidifiers.

It is a safety device that is designed to cut off electric current to the fan if the plug detects a potentially hazardous electrical fault in the fan’s motor or power supply. The fuse is non-replaceable. If the fuse opens repairs should not be attempted because the fuse has detected a potential electrical fault in the motor or power supply.

Why is it beneficial to use a fan with an air conditioner?

Simple Savings Tip: Save on cooling costs by turning up your whole-house thermostat and using your fan to circulate air conditioning, creating a wind chill effect and staying comfortable.

It is a box fan that has a patented, isolated box fan motor for worry-free window use.

This motor will allow you to use your box fan safely when it is raining. However, we advise that you remove your product from the window during heavy inclement weather as powerful winds could blow water into your electrical components.

Can I use my Lasko box fan in the window?

Only if your box fan is labeled as a Weather-Shield may it be used in the window.

Why is it important to install the plastic feet on my Lasko box fan?

The plastic feet are designed to stabilize your product and to prevent it from tipping over. You should not use your box fan until the plastic feet are securely installed.

How do I attach the plastic feet onto my Lasko box fan?

All Lasko box fans have plastic feet included in the box. Please refer to your user manual for installation instructions.

If your window fan has the Storm Guard® feature, you may simply close the window behind the fan to protect it.

What are the differences between air intake, air exhaust and air exchange on my window fan?

Air intake describes the fan pulling air from the outside into the room. Air exhaust describes the fan pushing air from the room to the outside. Air exchange only applies to twin window fans. It describes one fan blade pulling air into the room, while the other fan blade pushes air out, simultaneously.

How does the Ionizer feature on my Lasko fan work?

The built-in Ionizer in a Lasko fan generates millions of negative ions and disperses them into the air to combat and dispel air pollution. As the negative ion levels grow, the air feels naturally fresher like the great outdoors.

How does the timer function on my Lasko fan work?

This function allows you to set the length of time your fan will run before it automatically turns off. The length of time varies from model to model. Please see your user manual for more information.

My Lasko fan will not start. Why?

Try moving your fan to another outlet in a different room. It is possible that there could be a problem with the wall outlet. If your outlet checks out, there could be a problem with the product. Contact our Customer Service Team for further assistance at 800-233-0268 (M-F 8am-5pm ET) or send them a message from our Contact Page.

My Lasko pedestal/table fan/wall-mount fan is vibrating. Why?

This can occur if the spinner that holds the blade is not tightly fastened. Turn off your product and remove the front grill. Place one hand on the spinner and the other on the blade. Turn the blade clockwise without moving the spinner. This will tighten the spinner and prevent the blade from bumping against the spinner. If your fan continues to vibrate after trying this troubleshooting, please contact our Customer Service Team for further assistance at 800-233-0268 (M-F 8am-5pm ET) or send them a message from our Contact Page. Note: These units are very powerful; it is normal to see and feel a slight vibration when in use.

How far away can I be from the product and still be able to use my remote?

The remote controls on all Lasko fans have a range of up to 15ft. Note: You must point the remote directly at the control panel in order for the remote to work properly.

How do I put my pedestal pipes back together if I accidentally separate them?

Your pipe assembly should come preassembled in your packaging. If they are separated please follow the steps below for assembly. If the large pipe is inserted into the base, please remove it. Please separate the small pipe from the large pipe and lay them on a flat surface. Please note that the adjustment nut attached to the large pipe must be loosened. Once you have the two pipes separated, you will notice that the small pipe has a lipped edge.

You must insert the non-lipped edge of the small pipe into the bottom of the large pipe (the bottom of the large pipe is the metal end, not the end with the plastic nut). Once you have inserted the small pipe it will come up through the adjustment nut. You will now be able to extend the small pipe and tighten the adjustment nut. If the small pipe does not fit through the top of the large pipe you may need to loosen the adjustment nut. Or, you may have the small pipe upside down. The small pipe will not go through the large pipe if it is not inserted correctly.

Please make sure you are inserting the non-lipped edge of the small pipe. Once you have the pipes assembled correctly, you may insert the pipe assembly into the base and continue with your fan assembly as directed in your user manual.

Heaters

Can I use my Lasko heater as the primary source of heat in my home?

Portable heaters are not intended to replace your primary heating source. They are most efficient when you lower your whole-house thermostat and use the heater to warm the room you are in. Lasko heaters are for supplemental use only.

How much does it cost to use a Lasko heater and how will it affect my electric bill?

All Lasko heaters have a maximum heat output of 1500 watts (12.5 amps). Most Lasko heaters have a low heat setting (750/900 watts) and a thermostat function. The cost will vary depending on the heat setting selected and how often the heater is used. As rates vary across the country we advise you to contact your electric company for more information regarding your electric bill.
Simple Savings Tip: Save on overall heating costs by lowering your whole-house thermostat and using a Lasko heater to heat the room you are in.

What size room will a Lasko heater effectively heat?

Typically, Lasko heaters will heat a 300 square foot area. Coverage will vary based upon outside temperatures and insulation quality. For maximum efficiency the heater should be used in an enclosed area such as a bedroom or office.

Can I use my Lasko heater in the bathroom?

We do not recommend using your Lasko heater in a bathroom due to the possibility of contact with water. Lasko heaters are not intended for use in wet or damp locations such as bathrooms, laundry areas or similar indoor locations.

Can I use my Lasko heater near children?

Yes. However, extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children. We advise that you not leave your child unattended when using your Lasko heater. Heaters should not be left on during the night in any situation.

Can I use my Lasko heater with an extension cord or in a power strip?

No. Always plug your Lasko heater directly into a 120V wall outlet only. We do not recommend the use of other cord connected devices such as a power strip, surge protector, multiple outlet adapter, cord reel, or outlet-type air freshener. The use of such devices may create a safety hazard.

Is it normal for the power cord/plug to get warm when the heater is in use?

Space heaters typically draw more electrical current than other small appliances in your home. As all Lasko heaters produce a maximum of 1500 watts it is possible that your cord could get warm when the product is in use.

If the plug on your cord is hot to the touch it could be due to resistance heating which is caused by the wall outlet. Faulty internal wall outlet connections or loose plugs can cause the wall outlet or heater plug to overheat. This can occur immediately or gradually over time. If this is occurring we strongly suggest you have your outlet replaced by a qualified electrician.

My Lasko heater is emitting an odor. Is it normal?

If you recently purchased your Lasko heater you may notice an unusual odor. This is normal and the smell will go away over time. The more often you use your heater the faster the smell will dissipate.
If you have had your Lasko heater for some time and the heater is emitting an unpleasant odor, it may require cleaning.

How does the thermostat function on my Lasko heater work?

The thermostat function on your heater allows you to set a desired room temperature. When the desired temperature is reached the heater will automatically cycle off and on to maintain the set temperature. Please see user manual for more information.

My heater has a Save-Smart™ feature. How does it work?

The Save-Smart feature is an energy savings function available on specific Lasko heaters. When turned on this function will quickly reach the set temperature on HIGH heat then to save energy will switch to LOW heat automatically.

Your Lasko heater will cycle off and on in the LOW mode to maintain your desired temperature. Please see user manual for more information.

How do I clean my Lasko heater?

We recommend you clean your heater by using the brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner. Vacuum the intake grills to remove lint and dirt from the surface of the heater. Cleaning your Lasko heater every two weeks will help maintain the optimum heater performance.

How do I reset my Lasko heater?

Turning off your Lasko heater and unplugging it for 10 minutes will reset it. If after 10 minutes the unit does not turn on please contact our Customer Service Team at 800-233-0268 (M-F 8am-5pm ET).

How does the Ionizer feature on my Lasko heater work?

The built-in Ionizer in a Lasko heater generates millions of negative ions and disperses them into the air to combat and dispel air pollution. As the negative ion levels grow, the air feels naturally fresher like the great outdoors.

How does the timer function on my Lasko heater work?

This function allows you to set the length of time your heater will run before it automatically turns off. The length of time varies from model to model. Please see user manual for more information.

Why is my heater shutting off?

There are two main reasons why this would occur. The heater may be off because it has reached the desired temperature setting. Check your temperature setting on your heater.

If your heater runs for several minutes and shuts off repeatedly, it may require cleaning.

My Lasko heater is tripping my circuit breaker. Why?

If your circuit breaker trips while your heater is in use it is an indication that you have overloaded your circuit breaker. Lasko heaters can use up to 12.5 amps of electricity. The average circuit breaker used in a residence is a 15 or 20 amp breaker.

If you are using other appliances in the same circuit breaker as your Lasko heater, you may surpass the maximum amount of wattage available which will cause your circuit breaker to trip. This could occur immediately or after the product has been in use for some time.

Note: Multiple outlets in multiple rooms can be connected to the same circuit breaker.

I plugged my heater into the outlet and I do not see a power light. Why?

Try moving your heater to another outlet in a different room. It is possible that there could be a problem with the original wall outlet. If your outlet checks out, there could be a problem with the product.

Contact our Customer Service Team at 800-233-0268 (M-F 8am-5pm ET) for assistance.

Why is my heater blowing out cold air?

Some of our Lasko heaters have a FAN function which gives you the option to use your heater as a fan. If your heater has this feature make sure the setting is in the HEAT mode.
Your heating element could be damaged or defective.

Can I use my Lasko heater while sleeping or while away from the room?

No. Lasko heaters should not be left in use while unattended or while sleeping.

Can my heater be recycled? How do I properly dispose of it?

Your heater may be recyclable in your area. We encourage you to properly dispose of and/or recycle end-of-life products in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. For tips, ideas and suggested recyclers and waste service providers in your area, go to www.1800recycling.com

Where can I find my model number on my Lasko humidifier?

The model number of your Humidifier can be located on the side of the unit and/or molded to the bottom of the base. This is your model number. Or, you can empty your product and lay it on a flat surface to view the bottom of the base.

The model number is molded into the plastic. You are specifically looking for the word MODEL and/or TYPE followed by a four to seven digit number. This number is your model number.

How often should I replace my filters?

We recommend that you replace your filter pad at least once every season. When the filter surface area is thoroughly discolored, or you notice reduced water usage, it is a good indicator that the filter pad needs to be replaced.

Can I purchase replacement filters for my Lasko humidifier at a local retailer?

No, Lasko humidifiers are only available for purchase through Lasko directly. The filter inside your humidifier plays a very important part in its operation. In order to maintain peak performance, it is highly recommended to use only Lasko Replacement Filters. Some imitation filters do not comply with Lasko’s quality standards, resulting in decreased performance of your humidifier.

Must I keep the plastic housing around my filter when replacing the filter?

Yes. The plastic housing is sold separately from the filter. Therefore, you should remove your filter from the housing before disposing your used filter. If you accidently dispose of this part you can purchase it through our online Parts & Accessories Or, you may also place an order directly through our Customer Service Team at 800-233-0268. Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm ET.

Can I clean my filter pad? If so, how?

Yes. Filter life may be extended by cleaning the Filter in a 20% vinegar solution. To clean the filter, mix one part undiluted vinegar with four parts warm tap water. Soak the Filter in this solution for 20 minutes, then rinse Filter thoroughly with warm water to remove vinegar odor. NOTE: Do not flatten, squeeze or twist filter when cleaning.

My filter is discolored. Why?

Discoloration of the Evaporative Pad is normal after extended use. The discoloration is caused by mineral deposits in the water, and the degree of discoloration will vary depending upon the amount of mineral content in the water.

How do I clean my Lasko humidifier?

Regular cleaning is necessary to ensure proper and efficient operation.

  1. TO DESCALE BASE AND JUG: Mix one part undiluted white vinegar with four parts warm tap water in Water Jug. Place water jug onto base of unit to let the vinegar solution empty into base. Let it soak for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, wipe away any scale buildup from jug and base using a soft brush or cloth. Do not use soap or detergents and never use an abrasive cleaner.
  2.  TO DISINFECT JUG: Fill Jug with 1 teaspoon of chlorine bleach and 1 gallon of water. Let solution stand for 20 minutes. Carefully empty Jug and rinse well with water until bleach smell is gone.
NOTE: Do not operate humidifier when cleaning the unit. Make certain the humidifier is unplugged before servicing unit.

How often should I clean my Lasko Humidifier?

The frequency of cleaning depends on the amount of impurities which may be found in the water or how often the humidifier is in operation. In either instance, it is recommended that the humidifier be cleaned at least once a week.

What is the best type of water to use when filling up my Lasko humidifier?

You can use regular tap water from your faucet to fill up your Lasko humidifier. You may also use distilled water if you prefer.

My Lasko humidifier is an “Evaporative” type humidifier. What does this mean and how does it differ from a misting humidifier?

All Lasko Recirculating Humidifiers are considered “Evaporative” type humidifiers. This means that the air being drawn through the moistened filter naturally evaporates the water and disperses INVISIBLE MOISTURE into the air.

This type of humidifier DOES NOT PRODUCE MIST, WATER DROPLETS, STEAM OR EXCESSIVE CONDENSATION associated with other types of humidifiers.

Excessive humidity can often lead to unanticipated problems. Air containing water droplets or mist can create a good habitat for the growth of mold and mildew. Misting units often oversaturate the air, while the Lasko Recirculating Humidifier reaches a maximum humidity output level without oversaturating the air. With a properly operating Evaporative Humidifier, the evaporation rate increases naturally when the air is dry. When the humidity in your home is high, moisture output automatically decreases to help prevent damaging condensation.

What is the “Cascading Waterfall” feature on my Lasko humidifier?

This is the water show viewing window (usually located on the side of the humidifier) which provides a visible way for you to know that your Recirculating Humidifier is operating.

How does the humidistat function work on my Lasko humidifier?

The humidistat function on your humidifier allows you to adjust your humidity to a desired level. When the desired humidity is reached the humidifier will automatically cycle off and on to maintain the set humidity. Please refer to your User Manual for more information.

How does the timer function work on my Lasko Humidifier?

This function allows you to set the length of time your humidifier will run before it automatically turns off. The length of time varies from model to model. Please refer to your User Manual for more information.

Can my Lasko humidifier run 24 hours per day?

Yes. A humidifier can run for as long as you deem it necessary. The humidifier will continue to humidify your home as long as water is still contained in the unit.

NOTE: For safety purposes we advise that you do not leave your Lasko humidifier unattended while in use.

I noticed that my Lasko humidifier keeps running after it has run out of water. Will this damage the humidifier?

No. Your Lasko humidifier can continue to run without water and will not harm your unit. However, without water inside the product, it will no longer increase the humidity level in the room.

My Lasko humidifier is not turning on. Why?

The probable cause for this could be one of the following.

  1. No power. Check to see that your outlet has power.
  2. Humidistat is not set correctly. Please refer to your User Manual for more information.
  3. Some Lasko humidifiers are equipped with an automatic shut off switch that is located on the inside of the unit. If the top of humidifier is not seated properly on the base or the filter holder is not assembled properly, the unit will not power on.
  4. Lasko humidifiers are equipped with a fused plug that is designed to detect a potential electrical failure in the motor or power supply. This will cause the non-replaceable fuse in the plug to open. If your humidifier is within the one year warranty period, contact Lasko customer service.
  5. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE FUSED PLUG!

My Lasko humidifier is leaking from the front/back of the unit. Why?

If your humidifier is leaking water check the following areas.

  1. Filter– It is important that you check your filter periodically. How long has it been since your filter was replaced? An old and dirty filter can cause water leakage. Check you filter and replace it if necessary.
  2. Water Jug- (if applicable) Remove your water cap, fill the Water Jug up with water and replace the jug cap until it is fully sealed on the gasket. If your water jug leaks once you turn it up right, check that you have not over or under tightened the water cap. If the leaking continues contact the Customer Service team for further assistance at 1-800-233-0268 for further assistance. They are available Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm ET.
  3. Base– Check water level in base. If your unit does not have a water jug you need to monitor how much water is put into your humidifier. The max water level should not exceed an inch from the top of the base.
  4. Crack in lower housing– Check the lower housing for cracks that may have occurred during storage or transport due to impact or other external force.

My Lasko humidifier is emitting a foul odor. Why?

There are a few reasons why this could be occurring. Your filter may need to be replaced, your base may need cleaning, or your entire humidifier may need cleaning. Please refer to your User Manual  for cleaning instructions.

My windows have condensation on them. Why is this happening?

Typically, this occurs when the outside temperature is cold and the humidity inside your home is high. This can be eliminated by reducing the humidity level on your Lasko humidifier.

My Lasko humidifier has been running for days and the water level has not changed. Why?

The humidity level in your home or room has reached the maximum amount of moisture the air can hold. You will not be able to increase the humidity level in that space because the air itself has reached its moisture holding capacity. Your “Evaporative” type humidifier will automatically slow down the amount of humidity it disperses into the room when this occurs.

Can my humidifier be recycled? How do I properly dispose of it?

Your humidifier may be recyclable in your area. We encourage you to properly dispose of and/or recycle end-of-life products in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. For tips, ideas and suggested recyclers and waste service providers in your area, go to www.1800recycling.com
